A county of over 39,000, we see ourselves as a great place to live, work and raise a family. Clarion County has been recognized as of the 1’100 Best Communities for Young People” by America’s Promise – The Alliance for Youth.

Clarion County has some of the most beautiful land in Pennsylvania that is truly the best for hunting and fishing in the state. Clarion County alone has over 159,000 acres of forest of which the largest portion is Cook Forest. Rated one of the top 50 state parks in the nation, Cook Forest has over 7,000 acres of woodlands, including a National Nature Landmark: the park’s splendid “Forest Cathedral”, a stand of 300 to 350 year old white pines and hemlocks measuring over three feet in diameter and towering almost 200 feet high. Each year, 1.6 million visitors from all over the world come to experience the breathtaking scenery, explore hundreds of miles of hiking trails winding through the forest, catching glimpses of wildlife. You can fish, float down the Clarion River on canoes, kayaks or inner tubes. The Clarion River provides many recreational and scenic areas within Clarion County. With its ancient, primeval woodlands, Cook Forest is a paradise for birdwatchers and a prime habitat for warblers and other bird species, including owls, wild turkeys and bald eagles.

We invite you to enjoy the many amenities that the Clarion area has to offer. We encourage you to take a stroll throughout our community and enjoy one of our many restaurants or take some time and shop or enjoy some relaxation in our parks. If you are in the area in late September or early October, you will have the opportunity to participate in our International Award Winning “Farmers National Bank Autumn Leaf Festival™ which attracts over 500,000 visitors during the nine days.
