On or about September 13, 2010, after the Clarion Hospital “Tournament of Leaves” Parade committee reviews your application, we will send you detailed information concerning your appearance in the parade. MARCHING UNITS Judged Description: May be of a musical or non-musical nature, this category will be judged. Examples: High school bands, drill teams, boot camp, dance lines, flag processions, tumblers, gymnastic groups, skating groups, and other musical or instrumental groups.
FLOATS Judged Divisions: Community, University 2010 Theme: Celebration of Nature Community Description: Produced by non-Clarion University student organization or any other community group. Examples: Clarion County Career Center, VNA, Civic Organizations, Businesses, Scout Groups, etc. University Description: Produced by CUP Students Only.
VIP’s, DIGNITARIES, & CELEBRITIES Non-Judged Description: All local, state, national and inter-national celebrities by special invitation only. (Does not include persons running for election.) “See Float Policy” Examples: Governor, County Commissioners, Borough Representatives. NOVELTY UNITS Non-Judged Description: Non-traditional attractions Examples: Military & Specialty equipment, cycling clubs, antique cars, school groups, shrine units, clowns, costume characters of any The Farmers National Bank Autumn Leaf Festival sponsor ONLY, mascots of any local or state athletic program. State and local fair queens. (Must provide own vehicles.)
NON-PROFIT SERVICE ORGANIZATION OR GROUPS Non-Judged Description: Any local non-profit organization can participate by following the specific guidelines. Examples: Zonta, Rotary, Kiwanis, etc.
COLORGUARD Non-Judged Description: Honor guard units exhibiting skill and accuracy of educational, law enforcement or military origins. Examples: American Legion Color Guard, Scout Groups, VFW, etc.
EQUESTRIAN AND/OR ANIMAL GROUPS Non-Judged Examples: Horse & Rider Units, K-9 Groups, Llamas, Heinz Hitch, etc.
SPECIALTY GROUPS Non-Judged Description: Any organization that enters this category must display and/or perform an activity related to the current The Farmers National Bank Autumn Leaf Festival™ Theme: Celebration of Nature.
MARCHING UNITS (TENTATIVE PRIZE LIST) Judging for the Marching Units division will be provided by Pattie Bruni and the Clarion Hospital "Tournament of Leaves" Parade Judges' Group. The decisions of the judges are final. Score sheets will not be provided on the day of the parade, but will be sent to you within one week of the parade if you so request. Bands awarded prizes will recieve a plaque. There will also be a prize for the “BEST OF PARADE” float. The floats will be judged based on three major criteria: - Originality in the execution of the theme;
- Workmanship; and
- Artistic (aesthetic) appeal.
